Farnborough Air Show 2008 was really interesting for me, i was really amazed about the flying display and the number of peoples attending the last day of the show.

I really like aircraft (but i have to be honest here, i really don’t like when they are used in the “wrong way”) and i really enjoyed both the ground and the flying display. The only little issue was the traffic to get to the  Farnborough Aerodrome but once finally there i quickly forgot about it.

It was not easy to take this pictures, especially when the sky is not blue, it’s quite difficult to get the right exposure and to have the right contrast in the pictures. So these are not exaclty  the pictures i was hoping to get, but i really hope you can enjoy the 9 gallery i have created.

Coming soon… Farnborough Airshow

Farnborough Airshow

Next weekend I’ll go to the Farnborough International Airshow.

This is one of the most relevant events in Europe if you like aircraft. This event is held in Farnborough (Hampshire) and will end Sunday 20 July. For more info please visit the official website http://www.farnborough.com/Site/Content/intro.aspx

The show was starting last Monday and usually after 1 pm they start the daily flying display, so, having always my camera with me, i was already able to get some pictures of the aircraft and hoping that Sunday will be a sunny day, i’ll get some closer pictures of all the airplane.

I’ll post the complete gallery probably next week.

Meanwhile, if you like aircrafts, visit this event is a must.

Colchester Zoo

Colchester Zoo is one of the finest zoo in UK.

It has over 260 species of animals and over 545 sub-species; many of these are classified as endangered or vulnerable species. Over 70 species at Colchester are part of EEP or ESB breeding programmes (European Endangered species breeding programmes).

We went last weekend to visit this Zoo and we really enjoy it.

I understand that there are many people that hate seeing animals away from their natural habitat and especially inside a cage, and i know that discussions about that started a long long time ago and will go on forever. Please, understand that i don’t want to enter this kind of discussions, i just want to show you what i saw last weekend through my pictures.

If you like animals, and if you like zoo, i suggest to visit this zoo. It take about one full days to visit it, so if you want to assist to all the events, go there early in the morning :-) the zoo is big with a lot of stuff to see.

In this Gallery it’s possible to see my photographic report of that day.

Fleet Pond

Fleet Pond is the largest fresh water lake in Hampshire and the nature reserve has about  54 hectares  of varied habitats. The pond itself occupies about half this area.

The surrounding land features many rare habitats including heathland, woodland and marsh. Because of the variety of habitat, visitor may see any of the 180 kinds of birds, (50 of which regularly breed) 26 types of butterfly, 21 dragonflies or 400 wild flowers many of which are nationally or internationally important.

Thanks to  the Fleet Pond Society for the above informations.

My work place is very close to the Pond, so happen that if i want to relax i go there for lunchtime, enjoying the landscapes and wildlife nature.

In this gallery, you can have a look at few pictures i got during one of my visit at Fleet Pond.

Update:

Two Sub Gallery have been added to Fleet Pond: Gallery 2 and Gallery 3
